Student and parent accounts for SchoolFusion (this web site) that were not working earlier this week are now functional again. If any parent finds that their account no longer seems to be "connected" to their student(s), two options are available: (1) Log in and click on My Family on the left navigation bar, then click on Add Student and enter the student's long ID number in the box; OR log in and click the Join Class pages on the Classrooms page and select all of the class pages you wish to "join". We apologize for any inconvenience in restoring site user services.

What are the GED Tests?
The GED Test is five tests in the areas of Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Literature and the Arts and Mathematics.  The questions in each of these tests require you to use general knowledge and thinking skills.  Few questions ask about facts, details or definitions.

Even though you have not finished high school, you have probably gained knowledge and skills through experience, reading and informal training.  The GED Tests are designed to measure the important knowledge and skills (usually learned during four years of high school) that you may have obtained in a different manner.

Do you qualify to take the GED Tests?
  • Yes, if you are 18 or older.
  • Yes, if you are 17 if:
    • You are within 60 days of your 18th birthday OR...
    • You have been out of school 60 days or more, and are within 60 days of when you would have graduated had you stayed in school OR...
    • You have been out of school 60 days or more and present written request on letterhead from the military or a postsecondary educational institution or prospective or current employer.
  • No, if you are 16; sixteen year olds may not test in the state of California under any circumstances.

Recommended Procedures:

Go to the Yucaipa Adult School at 35948 Susan Street in Yucaipa, CA and sign up to take the pretest which will predict whether you are ready for the test.  Based on the results on these pretests, the teacher will either recommend that you study for some or all of the tests, or he/she will advise you that you are ready to take the actual GED Exam.

If you need preparation for the GED test you may enroll in the GED preparation study courses; the teacher will assign you appropriate study material OR... you may purchase a GED preparation book at a bookstore; study on your own and then make arrangements to test.

The minimum passing score is 410 points on each of the five tests and a total of 2250 points for all five tests.  If you score below 410 on a test, or if your total score for all five tests is less than 2250, you may retest, however, it is recommended you attend a GED preparation course to help you prepare before you take the test again.
